Movin' on up!

So it's taken me a little while to get back to post here, but I have good news ... I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

No, just kidding. Geico sucks, I have Progressive.

My good news is this... I've been approved for my mortgage and I'm essentially several dozens of pieces of paper and a couple grand in closing costs away from owning my first home! Yay!! I can hardly believe it. Things have been going so smoothly thus far *knock on wood* that I could potentially be in my new house before Halloween! Wouldn't that be crazy?! The BF is sort of nervous that we'll never see each other once I move, but I think it's going to be good for our relationship. The time we spend together will be quality one-on-one time. We won't have to worry about our families taking the attention or anything like that. We'll be able to focus on one other totally. Emotionally ... and otherwise ;)

On a completely unrelated and random note, is anyone else as outraged as I am that Nicholas Cage has named his son after a fictional superhero? Kal-el Coppola Cage?!?! KAL-EL??!??! Are you serious, dude??? I just don't understand why celebrities feel the need to name their children ridiculous things. Really, what is the appeal? Sometimes I think it's really nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt. Think about it. The odder the name, the more likely the press is going to pick up on it and write a story about it. That gets the mommy or daddy's name in print. Voila! Instant publicity! Check out this list for some of the more ridiculous celebrity baby names.

Comment here on your personal favorites. I'm partial to Jermajesty Jackson myself.

I'm pretending that Kal-el has some sort of special Hebrew meaning....
